SARAH KERNOHAN

Sarah Kernohan was raised in Southwestern Ontario. She started drawing at an early age, tracing everything that she found interesting. A mild nostalgic, and dilettante outdoor enthusiast, she started building large-scale drawings while spending two years in New Zealand. She returned to Canada to finish her training at OCAD and graduated with a BFA in Drawing and Painting in 2008.

Sarah has been actively exhibiting her work in Canada and internationally . She has won the Best Drawing Award at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition and was featured in the Magenta Foundation’s survey of Canadian Painting, Carte Blanche Vol. 2: Painting (2008). She is currently working on a suite of drawings that explore how large fluid geological bodies are structured and flow and the possibilities of collage with drawing.

Sarah lives in Kitchener, Ontario where in addition to her practice she works as the Artistic Director at CAFKA.
